ROBOTICS & TURKEY 2025 -- 3-DAY YOUTH ROBOTICS CONFERENCE IN MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA – ANNOUNCES SPEAKERS AND FUNDRAISERS

Third annual international conference broadens the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) talent pipeline by engaging children aged 9-14 yrs. old, particularly girls and children of color.

Mt. Vernon, New York     August 6, 2025

The 3rd annual Robotics & turkey Conference (R&t) will return Thanksgiving weekend—Thursday, Nov. 27 to Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025—at the all-inclusive Ocean Coral Spring Resort, Montego Bay, Jamaica.

R&t has been featured in Forbes and is endorsed by the Dean of Admissions at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

This year’s theme aligns with the 2025–26 FIRST® LEGO® League season:

UNEARTHED: Explore the artifacts of the past to uncover clues about how we live, learn, and celebrate.”

Opening session conference speaker is Dr. Lesley-Gail Atkinson Swaby, Archaeologist and Lecturer at the University of the West Indies (UWI) at Mona.  She brings over 20 years of experience in archaeology, cultural resource management, and heritage education. A passionate advocate for Indigenous Caribbean heritage, she’s also the author of Boianani: A Taíno Girl’s First Adventure and director of the 2023 Kulcha Konnection Summer Camp.

Joining her is Evelyn Thompson, a conservator with more than 30 years of experience and head of the conservation department at the Jamaica National Heritage Trust. She has taught at MICO University and guest lectured at UWI.

Both experts will guide a conference field trip to Seville Heritage Park, a significant site featuring remnants of the Taino village of Maima, Spanish colonial structures, and a British sugar plantation.

R&t primarily hosts FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) team delegations from Jamaica and the United States—each typically consisting of a student, a parent, and a team coach. R&t is truly a unique cultural and educational experience within the global FLL ecosystem of +45,000 teams.
